Look! Your own easy to start business, home based, practically no overheads, with EVERYTHING done for you!!
With the media churning out doom and gloom about the recession and credit crunch every day, a lot of people are asking me about starting a tinting business to go into as a part time job to make some extra money. Well the thing is, car tinting is an acquired skill that takes lots of practice. With flat glass tinting, as the name suggests, the glass you’ll be working on is flat, hence it is MUCH easier to master. However there is a lot more theory to it, but once you understand a few simple principles, it’s relatively straight forward.
A few of the other benefits to your new business include:-
- NO staff needed.
- NO separate premises needed, work from home.
- NO van needed, a decent sized hatchback/SUV works just fine.
- NO stock needs to be carried because you can order your film for next day delivery.
- Your web site is already done for you.
- Your web marketing is done for you.
- Your marketing material is done for you.
- Your t-shirts are done for you.
- You’re providing a VERY useful service that people appreciate once you’ve explained the benefits to them.
- The product you’ll be selling, hugely undercuts, and has so many more benefits than the traditional alternative, that is blinds.
- There is a HUGE profit to be made, typically 80% +, yes really, usually A LOT more.
- Very simple procedure.
- Very simple business model.
These are just a sample of the features that makes this such a good business.
As a special offer, I’m offering a 1 Day residential architectural glass tinting course. This includes B&B, training, all the tools you’ll need (to keep), 2 rolls of the most popular film (= 1000sq ft) , T shirts, operations manual and a supply of your own marketing material, all for just £1995 + Vat
There is enough film included in the course cost to earn you back more than DOUBLE your course fee!
For example: Standard patio door = >14sq ft. 1000ft of film supplied/ 14sq ft =71 doors @ £60 each is £4260.00….Ker Ching!!
PLUS, free web-set up and free listing for 3 months on the "support network" section of the Ultimate Tinting web-site. Afterwards there is a small £95 monthly fee which will cover your web marketing in your area. What this means is that if someone is looking for window tinting in your location, say you live in Chester, they’d type "window tinting Chester" or "conservatory tinting Chester" and ULTIMATE TINTING pops up at the top of the google search, and in the web site there you are listed as Chester’s tinter. Simple. All this is done for you.
The graph below is taken for our web-site statistics. Ours is an exceptional site that regularly receives over 6000 hits a month, and close to 20,000 page views.

Your business objective apart from carrying out the actual tinting, and taking the money, is to drive people to the web-site, as this is your “ shop front” and does the selling for you. You do this with the help of our marketing material and getting out and talking to people. There are SO many ways of marketing your business and we’ll discuss a lot of them on the course. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years now, at various locations around the country so I’ve a fair idea what does and doesn’t work.
Is my potential market just limited to patio doors and conservatories? I hear you ask.
In a word, NO. Do you know anyone that lives in a house with windows in it or who works in an office / building with windows in it? I guess you know a few.
Then there are static caravans, boats, summer houses, ANYWHERE WHERE THERE IS FLAT GLASS, and not just solar control film either. We’ll talk about security film as well on the course and opaque films ( to provide total privacy).
The potential is massive !!
It’s up to you to make a go of it. So let me show you how.
Your training is carried out at my unit in Ruthin, right opposite the wonderful Griffin Inn where you’ll stay the night before. There are all sorts of windows and doors in the unit to practice on in the facility I’ve built. These include the most common windows you’ll come across, including, French doors, patio doors, small and large windows, wooden painted frames, opening windows, Georgian bar, single and double glazed units and upside down roof sections.
Realistically how much money can I make doing this?
As you’ve seen the potential is huge and I’ve just show you a tiny example of what’s possible. Really it’s down to you as to how hard you push YOUR business, don’t expect people to come to you, at the start, you must get out there and talk to people, do demonstrations and put up samples. BUT once you’ve got the jobs the earnings are tremendous.
To give you an example of the profit potential an “average” conservatory of 3 meters X 3 meters with a glass roof, and 3 glass side walls would take about 5 to 7 hours to tint and the retail price would be approx £1300. Materials would cost approx £200-£300 depending on which film you use!
To tint a pair of patio doors because your customer has complained about the sun fading their furniture and making the room too hot, and the blinds they fitted block the view, would cost your customer £120 take you about 45 minutes and cost about £10-£20 for the film.
Finally here is a small sample of our commercial clients who we’ve done flat glass work for:-
- Super Aguri F1 team (may they return soon. RIP)
- Trafford Centre in Manchester
- Leeds Bradford Airport
- RBS
- Alliance and Leicester head office
- Ram Sport WRC rally team HQ
- Barclays Banks
- The Mental Health Group NW
- New Look
I hope this gives you a small insight into the business your considering, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to give me a call on 07919 891011.
Thank you and hope to speak to you soon.
P.S Lets see how long it takes the others out there to copy this !!
